Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy describes how Emet Political Intelligence collects, uses, shares and protects the personal data of those who visit this website, subscribe to our publications or request information about our services. We ask that you read it before providing us with any data.
This policy refers exclusively to the data we process as controllers through this website. The processing of information within our professional services — Emet Media Monitor, Emet Social Climate Monitor, Emet Executive Intelligence Report and Emet Electoral — is governed by the framework described in section 12 and by the contracts signed with each client.
1. Data controller
- Controller: EMET POLITICAL INTELLIGENCE
- Trade name: Emet Political Intelligence
- Address: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
- Email: info@emetintelligence.com
You may contact us at that email address regarding any matter concerning your personal data.
2. Data we collect
We collect only the data you voluntarily provide and the minimum technical data generated by browsing.
- Contact data you enter in our forms: name, role, company or institution, email address and the content of your message.
- Email address provided to subscribe to our publications.
- Technical browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and date and time of access.
We do not collect more data than is necessary for the purposes described below.
3. Purposes and legal basis
We process your data for the following purposes and on the following bases:
Enquiries and requests for information or a demonstration. You voluntarily provide your data so that we can reply to you. The basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Subscription to our publications. You expressly request to receive them and may unsubscribe at any time, without having to give a reason. The basis is your consent.
Management of the commercial relationship. Where a contractual or pre-contractual relationship exists, we process the data necessary to manage it, service it and comply with the obligations arising from it.
Security and operation of the site. We process the technical data strictly necessary to maintain the availability, integrity and security of the website.
We do not use your data for purposes other than those described here, nor do we subject it to automated decisions producing legal effects on you.
4. Specially protected data
Dominican personal data protection law grants reinforced protection to data revealing political opinions, religious, philosophical or moral convictions, trade union membership, health or sexual life, and requires express written consent for its processing.
We do not request data of that nature through this site. We recommend that you not include in the contact forms any information about your political affiliation or preferences, your beliefs, your health status or any other sensitive data. Should we receive such data incidentally and no legal basis exist to process it, we will delete it.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use technical cookies necessary for the site to function and aggregate audience measurement cookies.
We do not use cookies to build political profiles of visitors or for targeted advertising. This is a deliberate and permanent decision: the political analysis activity that constitutes our professional service is separate from the operation of this website.
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking technical cookies may affect the operation of some sections.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or trade your personal data.
We may share it with technology providers that supply services necessary to operate the site and manage our relationship with you — hosting, email and contact management tools. These providers act as processors: they operate under contract, following our instructions, and access only the data necessary to provide the contracted service.
We may also disclose data where there is a legal obligation or a request from a competent authority.
7. International transfers
Some of our technology providers may process or host personal data outside the Dominican Republic. Where this occurs, we will adopt the corresponding contractual and organizational measures and carry out such transfers in accordance with applicable law.
8. Retention period
Enquiries and requests: we keep the data for as long as necessary to handle your request and, thereafter, for a reasonable period to manage possible liabilities or administrative needs.
Subscriptions: we keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed or until you request removal.
Technical browsing data: kept for the period necessary to ensure the security and operation of the site.
In all cases, we keep the data for the periods required by applicable regulations.
9. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss or alteration: encryption in transit, role-based access control and activity logging. No system is infallible, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
You may exercise the following rights at any time by writing to info@emetintelligence.com:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify and update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request the cancellation or deletion of your data, where applicable.
- Object to the processing or request its restriction.
- Withdraw your consent where the processing is based on it.
- Unsubscribe from our publications.
We will handle your access request within five (5) business days of its receipt, in accordance with the deadline set out in Dominican personal data protection law. For all other requests, we will respond as promptly as possible and always within the applicable legal deadlines.
We may ask you to prove your identity before handling the request, for the sole purpose of preventing third parties from improperly accessing your data.
If you do not receive a response within the stated period, Dominican law grants you the right to go to court through a habeas data action.
11. Minors
This site is aimed at professionals, organizations and institutions. We do not deliberately request personal data from minors. If we detect that we have received data from a minor without the corresponding authorization, we will delete it.
12. Scope of this policy and processing within our services
This policy governs exclusively the data we collect through this website, in our capacity as data controller.
Our professional monitoring and analysis services — Emet Media Monitor, Emet Social Climate Monitor, Emet Executive Intelligence Report and Emet Electoral — work on information published in the media and other publicly accessible sources, a category expressly recognized by Dominican personal data protection law, as well as on aggregate and statistical information that does not allow positions to be attributed to identified or identifiable persons.
When we provide services involving the processing of data on behalf of a client, we act as processor and the client retains the status of controller. That processing is governed by the corresponding contract and by the confidentiality and data protection agreements signed with each client, not by this policy.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document; substantial changes will be communicated to subscribers.
